Starting Spring Break in the Double R

Caleigh, John, and I have had a busy two days in Round Rock!  We always enjoy our time here in the Double R because it is always family filled!  On Saturday it rained all day and Mom and I ran a couple of errands while the boys hung out at the house.  It was a pretty uneventful day.  To end the day, we played a game of Train...and Dad beat me...

by ONE stinkin' point!  Oh I was soooooo mad!  161 to 162....grr!

On Sunday, Caleigh woke up and John got up with her (I'm so grateful for him!!!).  After he fed her, he came back to bed and I finally got up with her about 7.  Dad cooked breakfast for us and then it was time to start our day with a visit to Mama Sue, Papa Marc, Keithy-Poo, Cheryl, and Trent!

Caleigh is completely  enamored with Trent!  I don't know if I'm ready to deal with her little heart loving a boy, but if she has to at this point at least she picked a good one!  :)

Caleigh crashed out on Mama Sue after she stole Caleigh from Cheryl!  Caleigh got fussy after being stolen and Keithy was giving her a hard time.  Eventually, Caleigh passed out and took one of her longest naps lately.

After we left the Casa de Kaase, we headed to pick up Uncle Bubba and Aunt Jen.  We went to Wal-Mart and then headed back to Mom and Dad's.

It ended up being such a beautiful day, so we decided to go outside on the deck while Dad cooked ribs!  We ended up playing train and enjoying the beautiful sunshine.  Mamaw and Papaw came to visit, too!  Here are a couple of pictures from our time outside.

Dad's first party foul!

She even snuck in a little nap!

A Rough Couple of Days

The last couple of days have been heart wrenching for our family!  Caleigh got sick Thursday night, so I stayed home with her on Friday.  We had a good day with no vomiting until 7 that night.  On Saturday morning, we woke up and got ready to go the post office, bank, and grocery shopping. I made it through the post office and bank, but had to ask John to go home.  I slept for a couple hours and then about 3 it all started for me!  I was hugging the porcelain god and not for a very exciting reason!  It lasted several hours and then I slept the night away.  We all woke feeling better until mid-day when our precious little one lost it again.  So, we are forgetting the formula for a while and sticking with Pedialyte!  It is so hard to watch your little one go through so much!  She has been a happy little baby while being sick!

Caleigh on Friday morning sleeping the day away!

This has to be my favorite picture ever!!!  Caleigh was laying between John and I on Saturday morning and she rolled over to cuddle with me!  It was one of those special moments that made my heart melt!

    A Surprise

As we sat in church yesterday, we saw a SURPRISE in Caleigh's mouth!  We thought she only had one tooth, but guess again!  She has TWO little teeth on bottom right next to each other!  I couldn't believe it!  She is getting to be such a big girl!  I wish I could get a picture of her two little teeth, but I haven't had much luck yet!  Oh well...I'll try again tomorrow!

Here is a video of Caleigh in her jumper!

    Caleigh's Baptism

What a wonderful weekend we have had!  My parents, brother, and Jennifer came down on Friday night!  We didn't do much...watched TV and talked.  On Saturday, we got up had breakfast, picked up Caleigh's cake, went to the store, the boys changed out the plugs and light switches, hung the TV with a cord hider, and then we went to eat lunch at Five Guys.  Before we went to lunch, Dad said something about playing Train (one of our family favorites).  After we ate, we went to Target and bought dominoes to play!  We had such a blast teaching Jennifer and John how to play.  And as I'm writing this, John says...we need to play more Train!  Anyways...with three rounds left, Aunt Beth, Uncle Ken, Mamaw, Papaw, and Aunt Lisa showed up!  So we finished our game and hung out with them!  We decided to go eat at Farmhouse and it was yummy!!! :)  We came back and Aunt Beth and Uncle Ken taught us a new game called Snafooey.  We played for hours!  Yesterday was such an amazing day!  I love having my family in my home (even if it is a little cramped!).

On Sunday, we went to church and had a great time with Mom, Dad, Dub, Katie, Bubba, Jennifer, Mamaw, Papaw, Uncle, Aunt Beth, Aunt Lisa, Kellie, Jason, Char, Kevo, Brian, Brandi, and G!!! After church, we went to Margarita's and came home and had cake and ice cream.

    The BIG Secret...My Peanut!!!

So I can finally share the amazing news.....my best friend and her hubby are expecting!  We are so excited for Kellie and Jason!  What amazing parents they are going to be!!!

So...for several days weeks....Kellie wouldn't answer my phone calls, but she would text me.  After a while I began to get suspicious!  Let me give you a little background knowledge on this....when Jason decided to propose to Kel, he asked if I wanted to come and of course I said yes. There was one condition...I COULDN'T talk to Kellie!  I don't know how I made it for several weeks without talking to her, but I did!  Kellie had planned on going home for the weekend and we had talked about going, but Caleigh had been under the weather and I didn't want to risk it getting worse.  We decided to stay home and not head to the double R that weekend.  So, one Thursday morning on February 2nd, I texted Kel and said, "You must have a secret to tell me cause you won't talk to me! ;)."  We setup a Skype date for Friday and I thought that Mama Sue and Kel just wanted to see Caleigh, but this is what I saw in the screen shot....
    Kel...don't kill me for this!
I couldn't believe what I saw and had to ask what is it?!  Then she said, well what do you think it is and I said, "a ONESIE?!?!?!?!"  And for the rest of the weekend all I could say was MY BEST FRIENDS PREGNANT!!!! I'm sure John was tired of me talking about it, but I just couldn't help being so excited for them!

I was talking about Baby Alford and decided that their nickname was going to be Peanut!  It just flowed so well AND Kel's nickname growing up was Goober, so I knew the Peanut would fit in perfectly!  I am so anxious to meet my little Peanut and shower them with love!!!

It seemed liked everywhere I went that weekend was something that reminded me of her.  For example...

I am so blessed to have her in my life and I just can't wait to see her as a mom!  She is going to be an absolutely amazing mommy!!!

I'm totally not good at this!

I don't know why, but I can't seem to keep caught up with this blog!  I guess I'll just have to make it one of the "chores" of Saturday morning!  Caleigh is getting to be such a big girl!  I can't believe how much she has grown and learned in the past two months!  She has eaten avocado, banana, sweet potato, and green beans. She LOVES her avocado and sweet potato, but she isn't too sure about the green beans.  I really do enjoy making her food for her.  I love being able to provide good food for her.  I hope that one day I will be able to teach her good eating habits, unlike the ones I have.  These bad habits weren't horrible until I quit playing ball.  I have the BIGGEST sweet tooth EVER!  When I was pregnant, I gave in easier to my sweet addiction and now that I am not preggo, I am often in an awful predicament!  Oh well...like my dad always says...Do as I say, Not as I do!  :)

We have had such a busy couple of weeks!  Caleigh is sitting better than ever and is loving her Baby Einstein jumper.  She will stand up as long as she has something to hold onto, but she still dislikes being on her tummy.  She doesn't even roll as much as she was because she loves to be standing or sitting up!  I think I'm going to have to just toughin' up and let her cry it out.  I know it's going to be EXTREMELY difficult!

Cal had her 6 month appointment a couple days ago and of course those pesky ole shots had to come out!  She handled it like a pro and cried for a little bit, then she was done!  She weight 17.5 pounds and was 28 inches long!  Her height was in the 99th percentile for height for her age!  One of two things are going to happen... 1. she's growing fast now and it will eventually stop or 2. my next one will be a shorty like me!  If the next one is a boy, I hope the later isn't what occurs.  :)

We celebrated John's 30th birthday with a Stock the Bar at his parents' house (thanks again Mama and Papa)!  We ate, talked, shot guns, and shot skeet.  Yes, for the first time I shot a gun (other than a bb gun!).  I enjoyed it more than I EVER expected!  One of my gifts to John for his birthday was that I was going to take him to the range, but he decided this would be the perfect day for it!  I am so glad that I tried something new with my sweet hubby!

    John's Birthday Cake
So, I got a 1.5% one time pay increase at work in December and decided to get new carpet in the living room.  Before there wasn't even a much of a pad and the carpet was EXTREMELY cheap, so after talking it over with John, we decided to put new carpet in the living room (originally I wanted new doors for the house). It was more important for Caleigh to have nice carpet and padding in the living room because she was starting to sit more and soon she will be crawling/walking. We absolutely love having the new carpet. Maybe one day, we can finish the rest of the house!! :)

One beautiful day, the three of us went to The Woodlands to have lunch with Char and Mama Joe Ann!  We had such a great time! I hate that so much time goes before we see each other!  How I wish that the weekend was longer!!!

    The Valentine Caleigh "made" us!

    WOW! Where has time gone???

A ton has happened since a few days after Christmas!  We were able to go hang out with friends on New Year's Eve and Caleigh did great sleeping in a new place for a bit! :)  We joined First United Methodist in Huntsville on New Years Day!  What a way for us to start the new year!  We are so excited to be apart of the family there.

    With Uncle B on NYE!

Our First New Year as a Family of Four!

Caleigh and I also got to visit Kel Kel over Christmas break!  We left around 6 and got there around 9 and she was the perfect little traveling partner!  She didn't make a sound and slept the whole way!  I was so excited because this was the first time I had traveled with her and just her.  We hung out, went shopping, exchanged Christmas gifts, and went to lunch.  Then, it was time for us to head home.  This is where the story gets horrible.  Caleigh screamed the ENTIRE way home (well...just about)!  The first time it was time to eat and that was 30 minutes into the drive!  Then, it was every 15 minutes.  She stopped crying EVERY TIME I pulled over!  I would put her back in and it was on again!  Finally, I turned the music up and she passed out!  I was like WHEW!!!  Here we go...an hour later...the same ole story!  I stopped and fed her again and she went back to sleep.  It was definitely scary though sitting in the back seat of my car at a gas station trying to feed Caleigh and look around to make sure everything was okay! We finally made it home after four hours.  Only an extra hour was added to the trip, but I can guarantee you, I'm not doing that again soon!  (Not by myself anyways) This is what Kel Kel made for me!

    LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!  :)
Since Caleigh's first couple of bites of cereal, she has truly progressed more than I could EVER imagine!  I know...it's only going to be larger milestones and at a much quicker pace!  She is eating cereal like a pro and will start veggies this weekend!  I am very anxious about this because I am going to be making the food for her!  I am definitely not one to panic about things with her, but I feel like the processed food we eat has changed a ton since I was a little girl.  I am hoping that I will be able to stick to doing this for her.  So this will be another exciting part of our lives!  I can't wait for the day that she eats normal meals and things are not so different from John and I!

Here is another new thing Caleigh has learned:

I can't believe she is already rolling over (and unintentionally!).  She is still getting stuck and face plants quit frequently, but she is learning and is enjoying tummy time more now!

We celebrated John's 30th birthday this past weekend and had a blast!  For his birthday, I gave him a movie and a trip to the gun range!  So, the birthday party was at his parents house and I had to hold up my end of the birthday gift.  I shot two handguns and a shotgun!  I can't believe I'm going to say this, but I actually enjoyed it!  Never thought I was going to say that!  John had a great time and we were so grateful for everyone who could come!

Here are a few pictures from the past few weeks!
