Many New Experiences
There has been so much going on in the past month now! It has definitely been an exciting time in our lives and there is even more excitement to come between now and next August! First exciting moment of December was on December 5th! I had gone to take a pregnancy test and started yelling for John. He ran upstairs and said, "Where's the roach?" I couldn't even speak (which is rare for me!)...all I could do was point at the proof! That is the moment our lives changed! I had dreams of telling John in some cute way...buying a camo diaper bag or making a cake with white icing and two stripes with pink sugar crystals or buying him a gift with baby things in it...but no...I screamed because I couldn't believe it! Well...I guess there is always next time! We were so excited and wanted to tell the world, but I was scared to death...what if it wasn't true, what if something happened since we were only four weeks into the pregnancy, what if, what if, what if????? We looked at so many ways to tell our parents and had finally decided how to and then I chickened out saying let's wait until we go to the doctor and then tell them. The only problem with that was exciting moment number two of December! I graduated with my Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a minor in Mathematics on December 18th and the WHOLE family was coming down to celebrate! How would we ever be able to keep this a secret...if you know me, I'm not always great at keeping EXCITING secrets from anyone! Then, I decided to go to my parents house the week before Christmas break so I wouldn't be extremely bored and get to hang out with my parents and other family members. After deciding to go home for a week, I decided I needed to say something because the What ifs came back...what if something happens...they need to know! So we went and bought Christmas ornaments to give to our parents on Saturday morning prior to everyone else showing up. They were hearts and on the back I wrote 'To: Pops and Lolli Love: Baby Newberg' for my parents and 'To: Papa and Nana Love: Baby Newberg' for John's parents. Yes my parents are going to be Lollipops essentially! I wouldn't have it any other way!!! I had texted my sister-in-law (John's sister) to see if they were available for a Skype session as we call it because my brother and sister-in-law were going to be at the house when we shared the news. We wanted John's sister to be apart of the celebration as well. Needless to say...everyone was VERY excited! As more people showed up, we shared the news with Grandparents, Aunts, Best Friends, and VERY Close Friends. Graduation was great boring and finally over! Then, we went back to the house and celebrated with all of our family and friends...we missed those whose unfortunately weren't able to come! And exciting moment number three of December...we went to the Doctor on December 30th and heard/saw the heartbeat and saw our precious little Tadpole...the poor baby was nicknamed Tadpole because when we I (the Type A/OCD one) researched what was going on with the baby! They described the baby as looking like a Tadpole and unfortunately started the trend! It is predicted that on August 17th, Tadpole will make an appearance into the world and we couldn't be more excited!
